Bradford Council are currently consulting with Friends of Northcliffe park over possible improvements to the children’s play area in the park, made possible due to £50,000 of funding provided by the Labour government.
The funding comes from the Government’s Children, Schools and Families Playbuilder funding scheme and can encourage items such as logs and rocks that encourage more informal and imaginative play, rather than the more structured play that traditional play equipment facilitates. |

Shipley council candidate, Alex Ross, has been busy notifying the council of a number of potholes that have appeared on Kirkgate near Shipley town centre due to the icy weather over Christmas.
Over half a dozen new potholes have been created and Alex has suggested the council deal with the road as a priority due to the large amounts of traffic that travel along the road every day.
If you have found new potholes on your road due to the icy weather then contact Alex who will pass on the information to the council.
Alex can be contacted via email at alexross.shipleyATgmail.com or by phone on 07929619641. |

Residents in Shipley were astonished to read in The Guardian today that their Tory MP, Philip Davies has, over a two year period, been bombarding the Equality and Human Rights Commission with letters asking a series of incredible questions. Among the questions were "Is it offensive to black up or not, particularly if you are impersonating a black person?" and "Whether it is racist for a policeman to refer to a BMW as "black man's wheels"."
Susan Hinchcliffe, Prospective Labour Parliamentary Candidate for Shipley, said, "I find these letters incredible. At a time when it has been the prime concern of politicians to tackle unemployment, a global economic crisis and climate change, the elected representative for Shipley has been asking rather silly questions which makes us in Shipley look foolish."
