Labour achieves record election success in Shipley!

At the recent local elections we were delighted to have a Labour win in Windhill & Wrose and to increase our vote in every other ward in Shipley to now be second placed.

Susan Hinchcliffe, the winning Labour candidate in Windhill & Wrose said, “I am delighted to have been elected to represent the ward where I live.  We won with a clear majority of 586 votes which is great.  I would like to thank every one who voted me and commit to doing my very best to serve the people of Windhill & Wrose well.”

In Shipley ward Alex Ross came second - the first time Labour have finished second in over ten years in Shipley ward - beating the Tories into third place and the Lib Dems into 5th place behind UKIP.  In Baildon, Jen Kilyon, after a very active campaign, climbed to a comfortable second place ahead of the Lib Dems.
