Susan Hinchcliffe

Susan was born and bred in Baildon, Shipley and went to Salt Grammar School. She lives in the constituency in Windhill, Shipley and is honoured and delighted to be Labour’s General Election candidate in her home constituency.

She has spent all her working life in business, including five years setting up and running her own business, Top Recruitment, with a business partner, in Bradford city centre.  She sold this business in 1995 as a going concern.  She now works for one of HRH, the Prince of Wales’s charities, Business in the Community.  This is a charity which is business-led and seeks to maximise the positive impact of business on society.  In her role as Regeneration and Economic Development Manager, Susan encourages business involvement as a means of regenerating towns and cities.

Her previous role was working for The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph where she was employed for 5 years.  Here she managed a team of marketing managers and successfully contributed to the increase in both newspapers’ circulations.

Susan is very active in the community.  She is a school governor, a Trustee of Salts Trust, a Street Rep and a Girlguiding Ambassador.   She is hard-working and has led many campaigns - better bus services for local people, keeping local library services open, helping local residents with planning issues and many more.  She is often seen out with the Labour Action Team, on the doorstep, listening to constituents and helping them with local issues.

She has a Joint Honours degree in French and German from Durham University and a postgraduate qualification in Local Economic Development.

HELP US WIN FOR SHIPLEY IN THE GENERAL ELECTION - You can now donate to Susan's campaign to become MP for Shipley and kick out the divisive Philip Davies by donating money via this link. You don't have to be a member to do it and any donation would be a great help in electing a positive MP for Shipley, not one who uses it as a soapbox for their own ridiculous campaigns.
